Good day to all,
I've gotten myself into somewhat of a pickle and am looking for some help. To start, I have one Exchange 2003 SP2 (version 6.5.7638.1) running on Windows 2003 SP2 server.
I recently performed an offline defrag of all mailstores. The largest mailstore is the original mailbox store 1 that included the System Attendant mailbox. To make a long story short, I underestimated the disk space needed to perform a defrag to a temp database for Mail Store 1 by 140 Mb's. Unfortunate since the store totalled 110 GB's. With less disk space available than I needed, I decided to simply move the mailboxes to a new Mail Store (the move defragged each mailbox).
After successfully moving the mailboxes to another store and effectively sized down the DB files I decided to delete the original data base files. That's where I made my mistake. I did not take into account that the System Attendant mailbox resided within the original mail store. Now, with the .edb and .stm files gone, I cannot mount the store to move the Sys Attendant off to another store.
Since bringing the original mailbox store 1 down I have been getting repeated 9175 events due to the sys attendant mailbox being unavailable.
I think I am able to create another DB within the original mail store 1, which would create a new System Attendant mailbox. Unfortunately this is my only Exchange box and I don't have a lab currently. I want to be as confident as I can be before I make any further changes.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you all
