Changing the name of the mailbox "System Folders" while importing a PST made in other UI language

    Hello,

We are migrating from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2007.

We will do it by mean of a clean install and we will migrate user data with ExMerge (5.5) and Import-Mailbox (2007).

Our Users have Outlook 2003 MUI (Multiple Language Interface), so their "System Folders" (Inbox, Calendar, Tasks, Contacts,...) may have received names related to their choice of User Interface Language (for example "Calendrier" in place of "Calendar" or "Boite de Reception" for "Inbox" in case of a French UI).

Does somebody know how we can do to force the rename of those "system folders" to their English counterpart while importing the Data? What we get in the destination mailboxes is two folders for each of these folders, one in English (that is the new recognized "system folder") and one in the user language. The user get for instance a folder "Calendar" and a folder "Calendrier".

     Any idea?

    Hi,

I must admit, I am not certain about this question, but here are a few thoughts.

Firstly, are you planning to import PSTs using the Import-Mailbox command? If so then you will need to wait until SP1 is released for that functionality.

Have you considered looking at the Quest Migration tools instead which may give more flexibility?

I wonder whether you could investigate the use of the -targetfolder switch. This is something I have only used on the export-mailbox command but wonder whether it could help in this case.

Sorry not to be more specific but hope it gives at least some help.

    Cheers

    Nathan
