    Outlook Web Access Authentication

Trying to think of a low impact (on me and my users) way to introduce 2-factor authentication to OWA for 1,000 users who are on the road a lot.  My boss came across PhoneFactor, which I had heard of in another context but not for OWA.  Anyone tried it for OWA?

We've tried the free PhoneFactor version for OWA.  No financial cost to use, and it's easy to set up and manage.  Worth a look.

    Hi tharrell,

Paul Robichaux wrote a recent commentary focusing on PhoneFactor, which you might be interested in. You can find it here. While not strictly a product review, Paul does provide some interesting insights about this product and how it works--good reading, I thought.

If you choose to implement PhoneFactor, I'd be interested to hear how it really works--come back and tell us about it!

Word up.  After having discovered Paul's work from several years ago about authentication, I came across his recent article on PhoneFactor.  I'd been trying to articulate the benefits, the risks, even the process flow to may management and had been coming up short.  Needless to say, I'll be borrowing heavily from his ideas.

Tried it in a limited way

We've been experiementing with it in the lab.  There is an agent for OWA that makes it easy to set up--like half hour.  The free version seems to support unlimited users.  So far it looks pretty easy to run.
