How to transfer pst file from office 2003 to office XP?

I had been using Microsoft Outlook 2003. I had to change to my office laptop loaded with Office XP. On importing the pst file of Outlook2003, i get a prompt saying that it is not compatible. What is the way out? How do i use the pst file ?

Please help.
